Organizing the Closet Part Deux!

So it’s been 8 days since I started organizing my kitchen/hall closet. If you saw just how very small this closet is, I promise you, you would be judging WAY more than you already are!
I was really only focused on finding a home for all of the shoes… UNTIL… the tension rod that holds all of my closet’s belongings crashed to the stupid floor! It was seriously rage inspiring. I went from zero to furious so quickly for two reasons:

1.) My house is approximately what I imagine the temperature of the surface of the sun to be.

2.) The cat’s litter box is in that closet and things fell in it…eeewww.

That was motivation to find appropriate homes for the orphaned items hanging out in the closet. Also, I organized all of my reusable grocery bags. Going green is great and all but having the bags everywhere was making me want to go out and burn some Styrofoam. I hung my biggest reusable bag on a hanger and put all of the smaller ones inside of it. Voila! I no longer feel the need to spite the environment.

As for the shoes that were scattered everywhere and taking over my life, I neatly placed the pairs that are worn daily on the bottom of the closet. Everyone else ended up in one of two places: the shoe hangy apparatus that now resides on the closet door OR on the top shelf of the closets of the individuals to whom they belong.

  1. A) Seeing your shoe collection and knowing you shoe sizes makes me wish that we lived closer

    B) You could keep the reusable shopping bags in the trunk of the car! (We keep ours there because my Alzheimers-esque brain conceives it IMPOSSIBLE to remember to bring them to the store with me...its a novel concept really. So after I empty them out, I run them straight out to the car. Also good for last minute unplanned trips to the store

    C) I use the reusable bags because I'm into Green. As in saving my own. Aldi's charges for bags. I'll cry about it.

  2. A) We should start a netflix program but for shoes.... (if that takes off, I totally want credit)

B)The car thing is totally brilliant, however, we have to park away from where we live (like inconveniently away... not "I'm just lazy" away)so putting groceries away and then bringing them back out doesn't exactly work... BUT, I think I have enough of the reusables to alternate them.

C)I've got a big "BOO" for Aldi's charging for bags. I used to not mind quite so much b/c I would use the paper bags for my recycling... but now we don't use the same recycling and all we need is a bin... so I have no use for Aldi's brown bags.
